Policies and Rules for Camping On The Gulf


Introduction/Check-in and Check-out Times

 

We are excited and honored to have you as our guests.  This booklet will answer questions you may have concerning Camping On The Gulf activities, amenities, policies and rules.  Our goal is to guide you seamlessly and smoothly through an excellent camping experience.

We welcome your family into our Camping On The Gulf family and value any suggestions you might have (comment form in the back of this booklet). 

As our special guests, we cordially invite you to relax, refresh, indulge, and bask in one of nature’s most spectacular gems, the Gulf of Mexico. 

All reservations must check-in.

Billiards, board games, basketball, bean bag toss, dominoes, book exchange, foosball, TV, game consoles, and card games.

Children under age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pool tables are for guests 16 and older. 

Front Office/Store

Registration, RV supplies, picnic supplies, groceries (limited), toiletries, gift store, rentals (wagons, beach wheel chair)

Slide (seasonal)

Visit our website campingonthegulf.com for weekly schedule. 

Follow rules as posted.  Enter slide feet first, sitting and remain so.  Wear bathing suits.  Follow posted minimum height.

Pools and Spa

North pool hours - 9 am to 9 pm. North pool is heated during winter.

South pool hour - 9 am to 9 pm (closed in winter).

No lifeguards are on duty. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

Please shower before entering a pool or hot tub.

No food, alcohol, glass, smoking, vaping or animals permitted in pool or on pool decks. 

Swim diapers are mandatory for those in diapers.  

Spa

Maximum use is 15 minutes. Shower before entering spa. No food, alcohol, glass, smoking, vaping or animals permitted in spa or on spa deck.  Bathing load is 7 people.  No diving. Pregnant women, those with compromised health and those taking medication should consult a doctor before entering. 

 

Handicap Access

Cabin #11 has an ADA ramp and bathroom. 

Rooms #1 and # 6 in Bath House #3 (south bathhouse) are child-friendly. 

A beach wheelchair is available for those needing assistance accessing the beach.

 

Beach Rules

Beach access is between sites 811 and 812 and west of site 800 on the beachfront row.  

Walton County mandates removal of all beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, canopies, games, etc.) from the beach one hour after sunset to one hour after sunrise. 

Camping On The Gulf limits canopies (no larger than 10’ X 10’) on the beach to one canopy per camp site.  Unattended canopies may be taken down by Camping On The Gulf.  Please tend to your beach belongings and be courteous to neighbors. 

Swim at your own risk in the Gulf of Mexico and pools. The Gulf of Mexico is not the property of Camping On The Gulf.  The county posts warning flags for rip currents.  Be aware of natural dangers such as jellyfish, sharks, waves, tides, undertow, and rip currents.  There are no lifeguards on duty. Stay out of deep water.  

No glass is allowed on the beach.

Please respect the property of neighbors to the east and west of the park and do not trespass on our neighbor’s property. 

Parking golf carts in the area by a beach access is permitted only for approved handicapped users.  Before parking a golf cart near a beach access, consult staff in the office for a handicap band for your golf cart.   Beach access for all campers will be for loading and unloading and such loading and unloading is limited to 5-10 minutes.

 

Beachfront Camping

 

Pump-outs:

Please schedule your pump out at check-in. Pump outs are free every other day. If you require more than that there will be a $25 charge per pump out.  Emergency pump outs-$45. You must be present while the pump out is being done. Please leave room around your sewer drain and remove personal items for easy access. Camping On The Gulf requires use of holding tank treatment chemicals in order for you to receive our pump out services. No portable tanks allowed.

 

Fires:

All fires at beachfront sites must be in an above-ground fire pit and must be within 20 feet of your beachfront site.  Fires beyond 20 feet of your beach-front site are not allowed without park permission and county permit.  There is a $50 fine for any ashes/debris left in the sand. 

Pets

We welcome your pets on the condition that you inform us of them on the last page of this booklet. Please read our pet policies below and sign the Registration of Pets Form. 

Only Cabins 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 13, 14 and 15 are pet friendly (there is an additional pet fee). Pets in glamping tents must be crated when unattended. 

No animals are allowed on the beach or beachfront sites. 

Pets must be leashed and always attended when outdoors.  

All pet waste must be disposed of properly in one of the “dogipot” stations. 

Pets must not be a nuisance or hazard to others. 

Pet owners must take full responsibility for the actions of their pets.  Owners of pets indemnify, hold harmless, and release Camping On The Gulf and all related parties from any and all causes of action, claims, lawsuits, and demands, of any kind, made by any guest or third party, as a result of any action made by owner’s pet(s).   Pet owners are fully responsible for any costs including attorney fees arising from claims made due to their pets.  

Parking

Only one RV and one vehicle are allowed per site.  Car passes must be displayed at all times while your vehicle is in the park.  Unauthorized vehicles are subject to being towed. 

Please get out and walk the site before attempting to park. 

Please do not park your RV at the front office.  Please do not attempt to unhook tow vehicles at the front office.  You may unhook your tow vehicleat the Activity Center or at your campsite. 

When checking in for a cabin, please park in the parking spaces at the front office. 

Helpful Hints:

If you have a tag axle, you should lift it before parking. 

If you have a 5th wheel with a slider hitch, you should engage it before backing. 

Travel trailer - remove or loosen sway control bars before backing. 

Utilities

 

A dump station is located next to the northern bathhouse.  ‘Screw-in’ type connections are required on sewer hoses.  No ‘wipes’ of any kind are to be put in the sewer.  Please cap the sewer when not in use.  The Florida Health Department prohibits the dumping of grey water on the ground.  

Keep some water in your tank in case of temporary outages.  Use of water at campsites for non-potable services, such as washing of vehicles, is prohibited by state water authorities.  Please use the pressure washer located behind the store to wash your vehicle. 

    

Other Camping On The Gulf Rules

Speed limit: 5 mph throughout the park.

No driving on the beach or sand. For the safety of our guests, only cars and vehicles that have working headlights and taillights are permitted to drive through the park after dark (this includes golf carts, bicycles, scooters, etc.)

When walking at night, please use a flashlight and watch your step.  Be cognizant of sand, landscaping walls and uneven terrain. 

Quiet time: 10 pm until 8 am.  Please respect your neighbors. Playground closes at 10 pm.  Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult if they leave their campsite after 10pm.

No smoking, vaping, alcoholic beverages or animals are allowed inside any building within the park.  Likewise, no smoking, vaping or alcoholic beverages are allowed within 15 feet of any exterior door of any structure in the park including the patio canopy at the Activity Center.  Alcohol must be discreetly packaged in a plastic cup or koozie. 

Please do not litter.  No trash including cigarette butts may be thrown on ground.
No fireworks are permitted anywhere in the park, including the beach. 

Playground participants should be supervised by an adult.  No park supervision is provided.  No animals are allowed in the playground.  

Please use garbage dumpsters.  Place garbage in the dumpster, not on top. Please do not place food in bath house garbage cans or wash dishes in bath house sinks. 

Clotheslines are permitted behind your RV only.  Do not use trees to hang clotheslines or hammocks.

Sleeping tents are only permitted with RV in the upper park. Sleeping in non-camping vehicles is not permitted. 

Any vending from your campsite must be pre-approved by management. 

No deliveries are allowed inside the park. Please meet delivery service at front office. 

Any repairs made to the outside of your RV while staying at Camping On The Gulf must be approved by management. 

Golf Carts

Only battery operated electric carts are permitted.  Do not leave the key to your golf cart in the golf cart when it is unattended. 

Upon arrival at Camping On The Gulf or at time of golf cart rental, all golf cart drivers must provide Camping On The Gulf with a copy of a valid driver’s license.  

Golf cart trailers must be put into the storage lot by Camping On The Gulf staff and not left at your campsite. 

Golf carts must abide by all traffic rules for vehicles (one way flow, 5 mph speed limit, no parking in road). 

Local laws prohibit the use of golf carts on sidewalks and on US Hwy 98. 

Parking golf carts in the area by the beach access is permitted only for approved handicapped users.  Before doing so, consult staff in the office. This area can be used by everyone for loading and unloading (limit of 5 to 10 minutes). 

Golf cart drivers, owners and renters take full responsibility for damage caused to persons or property caused by their golf cart. 

Rental Terms and Conditions

By checking in and paying for your stay, you agree to rent the assigned site/unit for the specified number of days upon your arrival. Each guest agrees to abide by all park policies and rules including observing speed limits. Failure to observe park policies and rules will at the discretion of park management be sufficient reason for eviction from the park and forfeiture of the balance of your rent.  Camping On The Gulf is not responsible for loss, damage, or injury to any person, vehicle or other personal property. Your stay is subject to Chapter 513 of the Florida Statutes.  If you leave early, you will not receive a refund.

If the State of Florida or Walton County orders a mandatory evacuation order, you will receive a future reservation credit for the time for which you paid and missed.  Such future reservations will be based on availability.  Your credit will be redeemable against reservations for one year from the time the evacuation required your absence and your reservation can only be changed two times within that year.  Mandatory evacuations are not eligible for a refund. 

Reservation Policies

By making a reservation or by renting a space, you agree to the following: There is a nonrefundable reservation fee of two nights’ rent per week of stay for every reservation.  (For example:  1-2 nights-pay in full, two nights rent for stays of 3-13 nights, an additional two nights’ rent for stays of 14-20 nights, etc.).  Upon arrival, this reservation fee will be applied to your stay.  

You are responsible for paying the rent for your entire stay unless you cancel the reservation seven days prior to your arrival. 

You may change the dates of your reservation subject to availability up to seven days before the scheduled arrival date.  Changing a reservation may be done a maximum of two times in any 12-month period, beginning at the time of your originally scheduled visit. 

Early departures are not eligible for a refund.  

Refunds for any amount paid in excess of the non-refundable reservation fee for reservations cancelled at least seven days prior to your scheduled arrival date are at the discretion of Camping On The Gulf.

Reservations are NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Drone Policy

Out of safety concerns for guests, employees and campground property as well as concerns for individual privacy Camping On The Gulf prohibits the operation or use of drones on Camping On The Gulf property. This applies to drones launched or operated from campground property as well as drones launched from property outside of the campground boundaries.

Trip Insurance

Reputable insurance companies offer trip insurance, refunding your reservation fees and rents if you have to cancel or shorten your stay.  Camping On The Gulf encourages you to take advantage of trip insurance.
